Prerequisites

In order to run Notung, you must have at least Java 1.4 installed (see here for Linux install instructions, and look here for Windows install instructions).

Notung is supported on

• Mac OS X 10.3 and above
• Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista
• Linux

Running Notung

Running on Mac OS X and Windows 2000/Windows XP :

After downloading the distribution, you will need to unzip it. Windows and Mac OS X come pre-installed with programs that can unzip zip files. If you are running an older version of Windows, you might need download jZip.

Unzipping Notung-2.6.zip creates a folder named Notung-2.6. Open the Notung-2.6 folder, and double click on the file Notung-2.6.jar to launch Notung.

Running on Linux :

To run Notung, make sure you are in the directory with the Notung file you downloaded, and run the following commands:

     unzip Notung-2.6.zip
     cd Notung-2.6
     java -jar Notung-2.6.jar
